Why does my council not accept reports from FixMyStreet?
There may be several reasons for councils refusing to accept reports from third parties like FixMyStreet.
We built FixMyStreet to make it easier for citizens to report problems without needing to have any knowledge of council boundaries or responsibilities.
If you would prefer to use FixMyStreet next time here are a few things you can do now:
Write to your MP or local councillors to let them know why you would prefer to use FixMyStreet
Tweet to let [% body.name %] know you’d rather use FixMyStreet
Good to know:
- FixMyStreet is an independent website built by the charity mySociety.
- We do our best to ensure reports go to the right place at each council.
If there’s a better contact address for reports [% IF category %]about [% category %][% END %] we are happy to update this.
- There are also lots of ways we can connect FixMyStreet to councils’ own systems if they don’t want to receive emails from us.
We will work with them to find the best solution.
- We would love for councils to contact us to talk about how we can allow you to make reports via FixMyStreet again -
here's where they can reach us: https://www.fixmystreet.com/contact
